Partnering for the future of Australia’s agrifood industry

The Food Futures Flagship is seeking partners to help realise the Flagship's goals of annually adding A$3 billion in value to the Australian agrifood sector.

The Food Futures Flagship has opportunities for research and industry collaboration and co-investment.

These opportunities include projects eligible for the National Research Flagships' Collaboration Fund, which will support selected research partners in specific projects aligned with a Flagship's interests.

Opportunities for partners

The Food Futures Flagship offers:

  • access to world-class capabilities in agrifood research
  • a focus on customer value and commercial outcomes
  • a global perspective
  • a philosophy of sharing risk and reward
  • linkages across industry, science and government
  • experience in working with industry to solve real problems
  • experience in coordinating research across various disciplines and organisations to achieve commercial outcomes.

The National Research Flagships' Collaboration Fund is available to:

  • public research organisations
  • universities
  • national and international fellowships.

Research themes

The Food Futures Flagship research is focussed in four areas.

Delivering premium grains and grain foods to increase industry value and improve human health.

Boosting the value of Australia's animal-based food industries with leading-edge technologies.

Developing a biologically based sensor to better understand, measure and optimise the characteristics of flavour.
